Apply to attend the
Werk It x Second Home Podcast Bootcamp!
October 2, 2019
9:30 am - 5:30 pm
Second Home, Hollywood
370 N. St. Andrews Place Los Angeles CA 90028
Werk It, the first and only annual gathering created by and for the brightest women in podcasting, is teaming up with Second Home, a co-working company with a mission to support creativity and entrepreneurship in cities around the world, to create a one-day introduction to podcasting for women+ in the LA metro area who’ve got big audio dreams but who don’t yet have the experience or industry connections to start making them real.
Led by women from some of the city’s leading podcasting companies, we’ll start by developing show ideas, move on to the basics of recording high quality audio, then turn to audience-building and creating revenue streams before concluding the day with a session focused on putting your best pitch forward. And after we wrap, bootcampers will be able to network with presenters, Werk It Festival attendees, and other podcasting friends at a mixer hosted by Second Home.
Think this one’s for you? Here’s the deal:
This Werk It bootcamp is created by and for women. We also encourage people who are non-binary, genderqueer, and more who feel inspired by what we’re doing to join us and be a part of our community.
The bootcamp is designed for podcasters with little to no experience or industry connections.
Bootcamp participants must be residents of Los Angeles, Ventura, Kern, San Bernardino, Riverside or Orange counties. (Not a local? You are very welcome to come to Werk It conference on October 3 and 4 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel! Women+ from 30+ states and 12+ countries will be there. Click here for tickets and information.)
The mission of Werk It is to advance excellence and equity in podcasting, so people whose voices have been underrepresented in our industry are strongly encouraged to apply. Click here to read the full application criteria.
This bootcamp is FREE to attend. If you’d like to make a donation or become a sponsor that supports this bootcamp and all of our programming at Werk It, email us at werkit@wnyc.org.
